I have been to Manpuka multiple times already and every time I enjoyed The food and the service a lot. I just wish they continued to have the charcoal grill outside. I think they currently only have indoor dining, which is with the gas grill. The meats are marinated so the flavor is still there, but I enjoyed it a lot more when they were serving with charcoal grill. The meat quality is very good and the portion is huge. We usually do their set menu and we come out super full every time. I think the price you pay, you definitely get decent amount of food. The service is always great, and I think this is a great date night spot.
This is one of my favorite spots in LA for BBQ! The meat is perfectly marinated and cooks to perfection. My top picks are the Kobe short rib and the Kobe skirt--both are amazing!
we got the prime beef tasting combo ($69 per person). the highlights: the meats were good and the salad was delicious the misses: the garlic rice and the pickled vegetables were just ok. i'd recommend just ordering ala carte for the meats. much more worth it! the service was good tho! parking is a bit hard to find

Food is great - the cuts of meat are tender and flavorful, prices are reasonable, quantity is not high but quality is key for Japanese BBQ. Service and vibes are also good - nice wooden booths inside, solid recs from our waiter. Honestly, worth it - would come back.
My bf found this place on OpenTable and Omg! It's amazing. You definitely have to do the Wagyu tasting, it's worth it. If you're luckily your server will be Luis, he's funny and he really knows his meats. Listen to him!!!!!

My usual order includes the beef tongue, Tokyo short ribs, cabbage salad, beef soup, and pork jowl--everything tastes amazing! The service is consistently good as well.
Food 5/5: meat is very tender and juicy. Almost melts in your mouth. Portion isn't large but very worth your money. If you sit outside it's charcoal so it's way better. Service 5/5: explains all the menu items well and even gives recommendations that aren't too expensive. Ambiance 5/5: good for hangouts with friends and dates. I will definitely be coming back again!
